Tap

Tap class explores dance through the use of rhythm and sound. Dancers will begin with strengthening  exercises and fundamental tap techniques that will allow them to move from basic to complex rhythms            and steps. Students will explore different styles of tap from Braodway to Jazz to Hip-hop.


Acro

Acro develops strength, flexibility, agility, and control necessary to perform dance and acrobatic skills. Classes include conditioning exercises as well as practice of acrobatic skills.



Modern/Acro

*Modern is a base technique that gives students the tools to succeed in all styles of dance. 

Modern/Acro allows dancers to explore a full range of movement possibilities as they connect to the music and learn to express themselves through dance. The acro component  teaches dancers to combine acrobatic skills with dance movements. Students will work on mats to learn various acrobatic tricks that are commonly used in modern and contemporary dance, then incorporate those skills into contemporary combinations.


Ballet

Ballet provides a base technique for all other styles of dance. Ballet develops strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall body control needed for all dancers.This class consists of barre exercises, center work, and combinations that move us across the room. Students will learn ballet technique and vocabulary, as well as practice ballet combinations and learn dances for performance.

Jazz

Jazz class will focus on learning proper jazz technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing their ability to work with complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Hip-hop and Contemporary to help develop a well- rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. 

Musical Theater 

Musical Theater allows students to work on acting, dancing, and singing as they prepare to perform short musicals at our in-studio performances. Students begin each class with exercises that improve their acting and dance skills, with a focus on storytelling. They then work on learning lines, lyrics, and choreography that will be performed for parents in our studio. Students perform 2 musicals per year, in December and May.

Creative Movement

Creative Movement is a 45 minute class that exposes pre-k children to basic steps from various styles of dance while working on movements that develop a child's coordination/motor skills, strength, balance, and overall body control. Children will also develop their creativity as they improvise movements that express various ideas and themes used in class.

Hip Hop

​Our Hip Hop class begins with conditioning/stretching that improves our ability to execute hip hop    style dance moves. This class focuses on memorizing and performing combinations to kid- appropriate, hip hop style music.

Acro for Dancers

​Acro for dancers is an advanced level acro class with a strong focus on blending acrobatics with dance movements in a way that allows the dancers to transition smoothly from tricks to dance in their choreography.
